As I'm presently lying in bed, listening to my thousandth "warm Paris night with 1950's jazz playing in another room" video, I realized I've never told y'all the habits I have that bring more sparkle to my life. So, let's do that.
We all know I love my expressions so here are a couple that I am obsessed with saying:
- "No thank you, I'm normal"
- Best used when the cashier asks if you want your receipt
- "The vultures are circling"
- For when you fell those with gossiping tendencies are searching for their next conversation piece
- "I'll alert the media"
- Sarcastic of course, for when someone says something so blatantly obvious
- "Your ride's here"
- When you hear sirens
Additionally, I cannot deal with silence, yes, I am aware that is an issue but its beyond my pay grade to fix so anyways... I love to listen to these videos that have jazz playing in another room. Something about it puts my brain at peace. There are so many on Youtube and I just have it on in the background. It makes me feel like I'm a character in a movie, which then makes me feel more productive and put-together. I will attach my favorite one at the end :) I swear if I could program my brain to play this all the time, I would.
Another habit I love is taking myself on solo dates. Like today, I took myself to the outlet mall in Canada. I stopped and waited in a long line at 7brew, which normally I would skip, but today I told myself I had the entire day to wait on me. I took my time and left when I wanted. I had a great time and found two new pairs of jeans! The last date I took myself on, I went to this local coffee shop that does espresso martinis at night. It was super nice just people-watching and sipping my martini. I think it's important to be able to do things by yourself and be within your mind. Meaning, that you're not texting or on your phone. Just there with yourself.
I'm also trying to not wear canvas tees and whatever shorts to bed anymore. Now I buy nighties, and I swear I feel pretty going to bed. Canvas tees and whatever mismatched pants make you feel frumpy. Now you know if my apartment gets broken into by hot firemen, I'll be somewhat acceptable to see LOL.
And here are some random extras:
- I only wear red nail polish
- I sleep with a tiny lavender filled pillow
- Every time I see an angel number, I blow three kisses (I don't know how I started that)
- Love subliminals although I haven't done them much lately
- Using my "good" candles when no one is coming over
- Dancing around my apartment with my headphones on (Whatever, if you don't do this then you're boring sorry)
- Driving with windows down = pretend you're in a movie
- Trader Joes hand cream before bed
- Always a made bed after getting dressed
- A signature drink (gin and tonic duh)
- Having strong and passionate opinions about inconsequential things
